What is Gehān?
Modeled on ancient Turkey circa 500 A.D., this is a world of underground cities, sprawling deserts, and terrifying creatures who dwell in the far North.
Dragon of Light Bükrek has created a forest idyll, while Dragon of Chaos Sangal is trapped in his Lake of Fire.
Spinners of Time is set in a time prior to Islam where Ülgen, son of Tengri, lives in a golden house on the sixteenth floor of the sky. Meanwhile, the Queen of Snakes dwells far underground.
In Gehān, you will find the bold Aswār, riders of dragons; slithering beasts with wolves’ heads; and the birds that turn into vampires.

So why did I write this book?
If you’ve read any of my work, you know how much I love dragons, and that they serve as the centerpiece of my work.
Most of my books have been humorous, but I’ve always wanted to take a more serious approach to these majestic mythical creatures.
Then, I learned of the Turkish myth of Bükrek and Sangal and fell head over heels in love with the culture and creatures of this new world.
I’ve read a great deal of fantasy books, but I’ve never seen one that centers around this particular story (in English), so I decided to create one.
Did you know that the sky god Tengri created the yin and yang of dragons, Bükrek and Sangal? That there’s this guy Archura who can grow from a blade of grass to a tree; and that Şahmeran, queen of snakes, is not a baddie but a healer?
Also, I’ve always been fascinated by caves, some so hot you have to wear a special suit just to go in; some so ridden with ice that they look like an underground Narnia.
Wouldn’t it be cool, I thought, to set a book in a place like Turkey’s cave city Derinkuyu, yet here, the people are hiding not from invaders but dragons!
Now, you get to explore the fourteen-level underground Dardan; journey with Abarōz to the perilous North; and ride three separate dragons in a quest to put down Dragon of Chaos Sangal!
Unlike my other fantasy books, this book is serious to honor its Turkish heritage. Of course, there is still fun, but Abarōz’s quest to free her city is filled with peril, actual Perils (fairies), and near-death at every turn.
Who am I?
My name is Amy Wolf, Amazon Kindle Scout winner and three-time finalist in the Chaucer Historical Fiction. I won two BookFest Fantasy Awards for this series. I’ve published twelve novels as well as thirty-eight short stories in SFF mags like Realms of Fantasy and Interzone.
I’m a Clarion West grad with an Honors degree in English, and started my career in movies at Twentieth Century Fox. I would later go on to Warner Bros., Universal, and MGM.
This year, I had an author table at Emerald City Comic Con, which was a great success! I’ll be at the Rose City (Portland) Comic Con in September.

The Series Characters
Abarōz, 17, had been made the new Queen of Snakes; lending her new, untapped powers which she must master quickly.
She and her love Shāhpuhr continue to fight for the Light, even though she longs for peace.
